Handy Stuff for Our MGs to Know

Posting Your Volunteer Hours
Because WSU’s volunteers must be covered by workers’ compensation insurance, we are required to provide an accurate accounting of the time our volunteers are engaged in volunteer activities.

To post your hours online, log on to the WSU Volunteer Page (use your current email address; the password is password!).

You can also pick up a time sheet at the WSU Extension Office.

Items Required by WSU Extension

Our regular contact with the general public requires that all Extension faculty, staff and volunteers complete the following:

Background Check:  Please print, fill out and return a Washington State Patrol Watch Form.  Download a printable copy by clicking here, or you can pick one up at the extension office.  These checks are run in our office, and everything is kept confidential.

Put the Child First:  This is a 20-minute online video on preventing the abuse and exploitation of children and vulnerable adults.  To register for “Put the Child First” go to:  WSU Universal Volunteer Training Registration.  Fill in the information requested and press “submit”.  You will soon receive an automatic email with login information to view the presentation (called a training event).  If you do not have a computer at home or for some reason cannot view the training, a DVD can be sent to you or arrangements can be made to view the training from my office.
