a note from Kris Bayas, Volunteer Coordinator
Hello Master Gardeners!
There are 3 important items that each Extension Volunteer will need to complete, and are required for all WSU Extension faculty, staff, and volunteers:
- Background Check: Please print, fill out and return a Washington State Patrol Watch Form. Download a printable copy by clicking here, or you can pick one up at the extension office. Cindy, our 4H Coordinator, runs these checks in the office, and everything is kept confidential. If you are a new volunteer and have already given me your background check form in training you do not need to fill out another form.
- Put the Child First: This is a 20-minute online video on preventing the abuse and exploitation of children and vulnerable adults. To register for “Put the Child First” go to: http://breeze.wsu.edu/cf/event/registration.html. Fill in the information requested and press “submit”. You will soon receive an automatic email from Bob Hoffmann with login information to view the presentation (called a training event). If you do not have a computer at home or for some reason cannot view the training, a DVD can be sent to you or arrangements can be made to view the training from my office.
- Entering Volunteer Hours and Contacts: Go to http://ext.wsu.edu/volunteers/logon.aspx. Your LOGIN is your FULL email address, and your password is password! (you must include the exclamation mark).
All of this information, with the links, is also permanently available on our Handy Stuff for Our MGs to Know page, so you’ll always know where to find it.
